Order Form

1. Fill out our quick and easy online Order Form. (You have the option to print this form and carrier-mail it to us instead of completing your purchase online.)
2. Select Options for your Painting: Our Order Form will guide you through the options you need to choose
Medium: choose the type of paint, either Oil Paints or Watercolor Paints
Style & Size: select the painting style; either Realism or Impressionism and choose the size for your finished painting. See our Gallery for examples.
  • Note the corresponding base prices.
  • Shipping costs are included in these prices.
  • Requests for additional subjects will increase the price.
Orientation: select painting orientation; Vertical or Horizontal
  • Vertical: shorter width, longer height
  • Horizontal: longer width, shorter height
  • The price is the same whether it is oriented in Vertical or Horizontal
Background Choices: if you want a background for your painting that is different than the background in your Primary Photo, you may submit a Reference Photo with the preferred background or choose from our gallery of Optional Studio Backgrounds.
Note the number of Subjects: A Subject is a person or an animal who will require detailed work by the artist. For example, in a wedding painting of the bride only, the number of Subjects is one. In a wedding painting of the bride and the groom together, the number of Subjects is two. Note the additional price for more than one subject in a painting.
 
3. Read our Terms and Conditions. Please contact us with any questions. We want you to be completely satisfied with your painting and with our service. You must click the box indicating you accept our Terms and Conditions to continue with your order.
4. Click the 'Submit Order' button to be taken to the PayPal processing page. You may use a major credit card or PayPal to pay for your painting. Then, you must click the button to Return to Merchant where you will be directed to the Upload Photos area[top]

Uploading Your Digital Images or
Sending Your Photographs

1. Select 1 to 3 Photographs or Digital Images
Primary Photo: One photo or digital image must be designated as the Primary Photo. If your subject is a person or a pet, the photo must show the exact pose and expression that you want painted. Be sure this photo is clear and in focus.
Reference Photo(s):You may submit 1 or 2 reference photos / digital images. These photos can provide details that are not clear in your Primary Photo (such as a close-up of a person’s face). Or they can include images that should be different in the painting than they are in the Primary Photo (such as the addition of another person; or a preferred background that is different than the Primary Photo).

2. Special Instructions: indicate in the Special Instructions box any required modifications from your photographs, such as:
Cropping: Indicate on your Primary Photo where you would like the photograph to be cropped. You may also contact us via email or phone. [see Contact Us]
Background modifications: You may choose a background for your painting that is different from the background in your Primary Photo.
  • The background in one of your Reference Photos
  • One of our popular Studio Backgrounds (see Studio Background Options)
  • Choose your own custom background by describing it in the Special Instructions Box you will find when you are asked to upload your photos.
  • There is no extra charge for alternate backgrounds!
Subject modifications: elements in the Primary Photo that you would like modified (such as remove bags under the eyes, remove a tattoo, eliminate an object, etc.)
Approval: We will email the modified image back to you for your written (email accepted) approval.
3. Send your photos/images:
Upload digital image(s): use our website to browse to the digital images on your computer or disk. After you select the photos and see the title in the box, click the Upload button. File size maximum is 9Mb (approximately 9300 Kb)
Mail photo(s): use USPS, UPS, FedEx or any other carrier. Indicate to us which photo is the Primary Photo and indicate any cropping information. Also, you MUST include your name and 2 methods to contact you (such as home phone, cell phone, email address, postal address)!!! Photos carrier-mailed to us will be returned. We will make every effort to assure that any photos sent to us are returned in the same condition as they were received.  However, we will not assume any liability relating to damage or loss of any photos sent to us. Order Confirmation

1. We will confirm your order, usually within 24 hours, by sending a Confirmation by email (or post-mail, if no email address is available) summarizing the details of your order.
2. We reserve the right to recalculate your total cost if your order requires extensive retouching (per your request) or more than 4 subjects. We will request your approval of the revised order. After receiving your approval, we will send you a Confirmation and process your order. [top]

 

Order Processing

As soon as your order is confirmed, we will begin production!
We will crop or modify your Primary Photo if you have made any such requests. If your written approval of the modification is required, you will be notified and your approval requested.
We will commission one of our artists to begin the painting.
We will send a picture of your painting to you and request your approval.
Your Approval:
  • Before you approve your painting, you may request changes, if necessary. [see Satisfaction Guarantee]
  • After you approve the painting, in writing via email or post-mail, your painting will be shipped.

Shipping

1. The process, from order to delivery, typically takes 4 to 6 weeks.
2. The painting will be shipped to you as follows:
  • Glimmerglass Art standard pricing includes shipment worldwide
  • Watercolor paintings will be rolled and shipped in sturdy shipping tubes.
  • Oil paintings for shipment within the 48 continental United States will be stretched (mounted on stretcher bars, ready for framing), then shipped in a sturdy shipping box.
  • Oil paintings for shipment anywhere outside those 48 states will be rolled and shipped in sturdy shipping tubes.
